Hard to believe that I wrote the post below last year, and unfortunately not much has changed.
First the extremists on the right tried to redefine what constitutes as rape, to keep women from using rape as a reason to terminate a pregnancy. Across the county they are passing laws that are putting more and more restrictions on abortions. We must keep in mind that Planned Parenthood not only provides abortions, but they also offer birth control and HIV screenings too. The GOP's plan is not to create jobs, but to wipe out every organization they disagree with, be it Unions, NPR, or Planned Parenthood.
It's amazing to me that the GOP would like to force motherhood on women, even in cases of rape and incest, yet they are against programs such as Medicaid, to help disadvantaged women care for these babies, they'd like to force them to have. It seems like the MSM are downplaying this threat to choice.
This threat is serious and it's real. We need more women from all walks of life to stand up and speak out against this attack by the GOP. Think about your daughters, nieces and granddaughters. It really leaves a bad taste in mouth to see an organization that primarily benefits women being attacked by a party that has shown very little regard for causes that have been beneficial to women.
